Bonchon was founded in 2002 in Busan, South Korea, by Jinduk Seo and expanded to the United States in 2006, quickly earning a cult following for its double-fried, hand-brushed Korean fried chicken. The chain has been recognized by Business Insider as the gold standard for fried chicken and by Food & Wine for Best Chicken Wings in the U.S., and has appeared on Entrepreneur's Franchise 500 list multiple years running. Its signature sauces are still crafted in Busan and brushed onto each piece by hand at over 490 locations worldwide.
