Founded in 2013 by Shelley and John Pippin, Brewnuts in Cleveland's Gordon Square Arts District crafts donuts using local craft beers — the alcohol is cooked down to a syrup that replaces much of the sugar, producing a lighter, less sweet donut. The shop was ranked one of the ten best donut shops in the United States by USA Today in 2014 and uses brews from local partners like Great Lakes Brewing Co.
