BrushFire BBQ Co. opened in Tucson in 2007, founded by two longtime friends who developed a signature recipe for mesquite and pecan-smoked BBQ using only locally sourced Arizona hardwoods. The restaurant earned a decade of consecutive Tucson's Best BBQ awards, two Best Caterer honors, and national recognition from Zagat and the Huffington Post during its 15-plus years of operation. Known for six scratch-made sauces, 13 house-made sides, and slow-smoked meats cooked in wood-burning smokers, BrushFire permanently closed both Tucson locations in December 2023.
