Burger King is a global fast food chain co-founded in 1954 by James McLamore and David Edgerton in Miami, Florida, best known for flame-broiled burgers and the iconic Whopper — a quarter-pound hamburger introduced in 1957 and still the brand's signature product. The chain was among the first fast food operators to offer dine-in seating and pioneered competitive fast food advertising with its long-running 'Have It Your Way' campaign. Today Burger King operates nearly 20,000 locations in 125 countries under parent company Restaurant Brands International, making it the second-largest hamburger chain in the United States.
