Dim Sum Garden in Philadelphia's Chinatown was founded in 2008 by Shanghai-born chef Shizhou Da, a fifth-generation descendant of the original creator of xiao long bao, and her daughter Sally Song. Chef Da brings over 30 years of experience handcrafting Shanghai-style soup dumplings using the original family recipe, and the restaurant moved into a new 200-seat space for Lunar New Year 2025 after purchasing a building for $2.7 million. It is consistently ranked among Philadelphia's top dining destinations on TripAdvisor.
