Fenwick Bakery is a Baltimore institution with roots stretching back to 1913, when Swiss immigrant Ernest Uebersax and his wife Alvena opened a bakeshop in southwest Baltimore, later renaming it Fenwick in honor of their Fenwick Avenue home. Now in its second century and located at 7219 Harford Road in Parkville, the bakery is famous for its traditional pound cakes, seasonal peach cakes, and custom Ravens-themed football cakes baked for Super Bowl celebrations. Still using many of the original Uebersax family recipes, Fenwick Bakery remains a beloved neighborhood landmark.
