Fonda 12 South is a Nashville outpost of the acclaimed Fonda restaurant concept, brought to the 12 South neighborhood in 2024 by Le Cordon Bleu–trained Mexico City chef Roberto Santibañez. The menu features contemporary Mexican small plates and shareable dishes — including Wagyu with mole de avellanas, crab empanadas, and build-your-own taco boards — made with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Santibañez, an award-winning cookbook author who also operates Fonda locations in Brooklyn and Tokyo, is widely regarded as one of the leading authorities on authentic Mexican cuisine.
