Joess Kansas City Bar-B-Que

Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que grew out of a champion competition BBQ team called Slaughterhouse Five, which won the prestigious American Royal BBQ and eight Grand Championships before Jeff and Joy Stehney opened their first restaurant in a Kansas City gas station in 1996. Famous for the legendary Z-Man sandwich — smoked brisket, provolone, and onion rings on a Kaiser roll — Joe's has been called a must-eat destination by Anthony Bourdain and was ranked the number one BBQ restaurant in America by the New York Post in 2017.
