KFC
🏢National Chain
KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) was founded by Colonel Harland Sanders, who developed his Original Recipe of 11 herbs and spices at his roadside restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky, during the Great Depression, with the recipe finalized in 1940. The first franchise opened in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1952, and Sanders sold the company in 1964 for $2 million before it grew into one of the world's largest fast-food chains. Today KFC operates approximately 30,000 locations in more than 147 countries and is credited with transforming fried chicken into a globally recognized fast-food category.
