Komé is a Japanese restaurant in Austin, Texas founded in 2011 by husband-and-wife team Takehiro and Kayo Asazu, who began their culinary journey in Austin as a farmers' market bento stand in 2006, drawing on flavors from their home regions of Osaka and Kobe. The restaurant transitioned from a daytime shokudo (Japanese bistro) to an evening izakaya, earning recognition as the Austin Chronicle's Best Sushi for 2025. Komé is known for its action-packed sushi rolls with signature go-go sauce, exceptional house-made ramen, and a welcoming omotenashi hospitality philosophy.
