Kooky Canuck is a Canadian-Southern hybrid restaurant founded in 2005 in downtown Memphis by Canadian couple Shawn and Lana Danko, originally named Big Foot Lodge before a 2008 trademark settlement prompted the rebrand. The restaurant gained national attention when it appeared in Season 1 of Man v. Food on the Travel Channel, showcasing its legendary Kookamonga Burger Challenge — a 7.5-pound, 12,387-calorie behemoth. Located across from the historic Peabody Hotel, Kooky Canuck serves scratch-made dishes blending Canadian staples like poutine and peameal bacon with Southern favorites like catfish and BBQ egg rolls.
