Liliha Bakery was founded in 1950 by Roy and Koo Takakuwa, who opened a small bread shop on Liliha Street in Honolulu before moving to their current Kuakini Street location in 1961. The bakery is famous for its Coco Puff, a chocolate pudding-filled cream puff topped with macadamia nut chantilly frosting that was reformulated into its iconic form around 1990 and now sells close to 10,000 per day. A beloved Hawaii institution with five locations on Oahu, Liliha Bakery bakes all products from scratch daily using traditional methods.
