Lom Wong in downtown Phoenix is the creation of husband-and-wife team Alex and James Beard Award-winning chef Yotaka Martin, who launched the concept as a pop-up and grew it into a nationally recognized Thai restaurant. Chef Yotaka, who won the 2025 James Beard Best Chef Southwest award, showcases hyper-regional flavors from her home country, hand-pounding curry pastes and pressing fresh coconut milk to stay faithful to village recipes from across Thailand. Lom Wong was named one of Esquire's Best New Restaurants in 2023 and has consistently been recognized as Phoenix's best Thai restaurant by Phoenix New Times.
