Montgomery Inn is a Cincinnati-area BBQ landmark founded on November 1, 1951, by Ted Gregory — known as the 'Ribs King' — and his wife Matula, who developed the restaurant's legendary proprietary barbecue sauce that Bon Appétit ranked among the top five in the United States in 2023. Located at 9440 Montgomery Road, the restaurant has hosted five U.S. presidents and celebrities including Bob Hope, Neil Armstrong, and Elton John over its seven-decade history. A second location, The Boathouse on the Ohio River, opened in 1989, and the family's bottled sauce has been available in retail stores since 1990.
