Phở Bắc Súp Shop traces its roots to 1982, when Theresa Cat Vu and Augustine Nien Pham opened a sandwich shop in Seattle's Little Saigon that became one of the city's first pho restaurants within months of opening. Now operated by the founders' children Yenvy and Quynh Pham, the restaurant earned a James Beard Foundation Award nomination for Outstanding Restaurateur — one of only five finalists nationally — and has been praised by Condé Nast Traveler for serving some of the best bowls in pho-rich Seattle.
