Rita's Italian Ice

Rita's Italian Ice was founded in 1984 by former Philadelphia firefighter Bob Tumolo, who sold Italian ice from his front porch in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, naming the business after his wife. The chain began franchising in 1989 and has expanded to nearly 600 locations across 30 states, becoming a regional institution known for its free first-day-of-spring giveaway.
