Sandtown Pizza began in 2021 as a backyard pop-up called Backdoor Pizzeria, founded by Chris Tamplin in St. George, Utah during the pandemic, before growing into a brick-and-mortar location on Bluff Street. All pizzas are hand-stretched sourdoughs made with Central Milling organic flour and cooked in a wood-fired oven. The restaurant has earned a loyal following for creative toppings like its signature pear and prosciutto pizza.
