Side Street Inn opened in Honolulu in 1992, founded by chef Colin Nishida as a neighborhood bar with a five-item menu that became a legendary late-night gathering spot for Hawaii's restaurant industry. Featured on Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations and the Food Network, it has earned multiple Hale 'Aina Gold awards from Honolulu Magazine, and Nishida was named Restaurateur of the Year by the publication. President Obama dined there on Christmas Eve 2017, cementing its status as a true local institution.
