Smoked on High BBQ was founded by Max McGarity, who began catering in Columbus in 2011 before realizing his dream of a brick-and-mortar restaurant in 2017 by converting a Victorian house in the city's Brewery District at 755 S. High St. The restaurant slow-smokes meats over post oak and hickory and was cited by the travel guide Family Destinations as serving the best BBQ ribs in Ohio.
