Taqueria Habanero

Taqueria Habanero was founded in 2014 by Dio and Mirna Montero, immigrants from Puebla, Mexico, at 3710 14th Street NW in Washington, D.C.'s Columbia Heights neighborhood. The family-run Pueblan taqueria is known for handmade corn tortillas, 14 varieties of tacos, huaraches, sopes, and house habanero salsa, drawing on Montero's prior cooking experience at the renowned Oyamel restaurant. Taqueria Habanero earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand designation in 2024.
