The Pig and the Lady was created in 2011 by Honolulu-born chef Andrew Le—named for him ("The Pig") and his Vietnamese immigrant mother Loan ("The Lady")—beginning as a pop-up and farmers market stand before opening its Chinatown brick-and-mortar in 2013. James Beard Award-nominated Chef Le is recognized for his modern, globally accented Vietnamese cuisine using local Hawaiian ingredients, and the restaurant has been named Best Oahu Restaurant at the Hale Aina Awards multiple times.
