Bogie's Place is a 20-seat speakeasy-style steakhouse tucked behind a velvet curtain at the back of JM Curley in Boston's Downtown Crossing neighborhood, inspired by co-owner Andy Cartin's childhood memory of a Humphrey Bogart cutout glimpsed through padded parlor doors. The intimate, cell-phone-free room serves nightly improvisational menus of prime cuts alongside era-appropriate classic cocktails, including an homage to the Ward 8, the cocktail invented at the nearby 19th-century Locke-Ober restaurant.
