Sarma

Sarma is a modern Middle Eastern meze tavern in Somerville, Massachusetts opened in fall 2013 by chef-owner Cassie Piuma alongside James Beard Award-winning chef Ana Sortun of the acclaimed Oleana. Inspired by Istanbul's neighborhood meyhanes, the restaurant serves bold, layered small plates drawing on Mediterranean culinary traditions. Chef Piuma has earned James Beard Award nominations for Best Chef: Northeast in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2020, making Sarma one of the Boston area's most critically recognized restaurants.
