Canlis is a family-owned fine dining institution perched above Lake Union in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood, open since 1950 and celebrated as one of America's great restaurants — ranked second by Food & Wine Magazine in 2025. The restaurant has earned 15 James Beard Award nominations and multiple wins, including Outstanding Wine Program (2017), Best Chef Northwest (2019), and a Design Icon award for its landmark midcentury architecture. Its 88-page wine list has earned Wine Spectator's Grand Award every year since 1997, and the restaurant has continuously trained Master Sommeliers.
