Crunchik'n was founded in 2017 by retired South Korean-born theology professor John Choi and his daughter Jennifer, who enlisted Korean food scientists to perfect a double-fry technique yielding exceptionally crispy chicken. Starting from a location in Ocean City, NJ, the father-daughter concept expanded to Philadelphia's Center City and has been recognized by Philadelphia Magazine's Best of Philly for its scratch-made sauces and Korean street food like the panko-coated Crunch Dog.
