Gerardo's Drive-In

Open only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Gerardo's Drive-In has served the Near Northside since 1977 and has earned a devoted following as the best place in Houston for barbacoa. The beef cheek and tongue slow-steam in giant stainless steel pots until completely tender and smoky, then get served by the pound or stuffed into house-made corn or flour tortillas. Copper-pot carnitas and menudo round out the short, perfect menu.
