Zahav, meaning 'gold' in Hebrew, is an Israeli restaurant opened in Philadelphia's Society Hill neighborhood in 2008 by chef Michael Solomonov and business partner Steve Cook. Solomonov has received five James Beard Awards, including Outstanding Chef in 2017, and Zahav won the 2019 James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant — the first Philadelphia restaurant ever to receive that honor — known for its pomegranate lamb shoulder and hummus named Bon Appetit's dish of the year in 2015.
