
Saffron Valley
Founded by Lavanya Mahate in 2011, Saffron Valley pioneered regional Indian cuisine across Utah by offering dishes from all parts of India — north, south, east, and west — at a time when no other restaurant in the state did so. Mahate, a former Director of the Women's Business Center at the Salt Lake Chamber, has won numerous accolades including Utah Businessperson of the Year, and the restaurant earned recognition as Small Business of the Year from the Salt Lake Chamber and Best Indian Restaurant from Salt Lake Magazine.
